Wendy Waeni, the famous 13-year old gymnast on Wednesday revealed details of how she is allegedly being scammed by her manager, Joe Mwangi.
Waeni who has entertained Presidents including Uhuru Kenyatta and Rwanda's Paul Kagame disclosed that despite getting called for several performances, she was not earning any money from them.
She claimed that Joe Mwangi, who took her under her wing promising to guide her career, would broker deals with individuals and organizations only to take all the money.
Waeni revealed that she still lives with her mother in Nairobi's Huruma area and that their financial status has not changed much in spite of the fame.
Waeni's gymnastic abilities are so impressive that she was appointed as the Insipirational and Enthusiastic Young Champion Ambassador by the United Nations International Childrens Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in 2018.
The young gymnast leveled the accusations against Mwangi on Citizen TV's Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) show on Wednesday night.
The show featured other talented young Kenyans including songbird Leyla Mohammed and Ellyanne Githae.
The interview sparked a furore online with many demanding that Joe be removed from the position to ensure Wendy and her family benefit from her talent.
