Lawyer Donald Kipkorir faced the wrath of Kenyans on Tuesday after questioning Joycelyn Jepkosgei's weekend New York Marathon win.

In a since deleted tweet, Kipkorir posted pictures of Jepkosgei as he questioned whether she should be allowed to compete alongside her 'more feminine' counterparts.

"Joyciline Jepkosgei won the women New York Marathon .. But is it really fair for her to be allowed to run against women who are more feminine? If we demand equitable competition in life, it must cut across all fields .. No one should get undue advantage. I say this with respect." he wrote.

The tweet stirred up a storm reminiscent of the debate on South African 800m star Caster Semenya and the IAAF's controversial ruling that will see high testosterone levels in female athletes regulated.

A barrage of angry replies followed Kipkorir's tweet, with many offended.

Kipkorir went on to compare Jepkosgei to Keitany, posting an image of Keitany, the Marathon world champion who lost to Keitany.
