The curtains finally came down on this year's IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar on Sunday.

Kenya, as is the norm at the world athletics championships, put up an impressive showing that saw the country place second on the final table. Only the United States bagged more medals.

From Ruth Chepng'etich becoming the first world champion at Doha to Conselsus Kipruto's charismatic display in the 3,000 metres steeplechase and Hellen Obiri's excellent run for gold in the 5000 metres, the World Champs were full of great moments for Kenyans and lovers of athletics.

Other heartwarming highlights included Faith Kipyegon's glorious return from injury and the Kenya Airports Authority's (KAA) pledge to put up a billboard featuring the viral shot of an unfazed Conselsus Kipruto silencing the world as his competitors lay on the ground, tired after losing to him.
