Lexxy Yung, one fifth of popular Gengetone group Sailors, has quit the group after getting saved.

An emotional Yung revealed that he had decided to start a new path as a Gospel artist, asking fans to stay tuned for new music.

He even promised to drop his famous tag 'Pedi wa Runda' (Drug peddler in Runda).

"I'm sorry mabro for this..And it's with many tears bana..tumekuwa pamoja have done a lot and achieved alot, l wish you all best in your journey.

"Me nmeamua to take on gospel industry promise sitawainamisha uko?And I promise to always have your backs Gospel artists here I come," he wrote.

His Sailors' partners Miracle Baby, Shalkido, Qoqos Juma and Masilver were present at a Nairobi church to support Yung as he marked the new begining.

He further took time to apologize to those he might have rubbed the wrong way; including Sailors' former manager Mwalimu Rachel and dancehall artist KRG the Don.

At different points in time, Sailors had been locked in a publicized beef with Mwalimu Rachel ahead of their move to sign for Black Market Records (BMR).

They had traded words after Rachel refused to relinquish access to the group's Youtube account with their most popular releases including Queen B, Ni Tekenye and more.

Yung noted that although the Youtube issue was never resolved, he had nothing but respect and admiration for Rachel, who took them under her wing after their first hit single, Wamlambez.

He also criticized KRG for insulting the artists during their publicized squabble, but noted that he apologized as he wanted to start on a clean slate.

KRG tore into Sailors after they failed to show up for a video shoot for Nyandus, their hit single. He further accused the group of trying to extort him.
