Kenyan music and dance group Matata are taking it up a notch in 2023, after being spotted in studio with Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade. Alade is a bona fide African superstar with some of her biggest hits including Johnny and Africa featuring Sauti Sol.

Matata are among the most creative and talented Gengetone and Afropop groups in Kenya, having risen over the past three years with hits and dance-heavy, story style videos that have seen them cut a niche for themselves. Among their tunes are Gengetone Love, Pombe na Kizungu Mingi and This Love.

The group, based in Oslo, this past New Year were in Nairobi for the Super Morio Experience, an event to promote their new album Super Moro. The event was sponsored by East African Breweries Ltd (EABL) through their Rockshore tropical beer brand.
