Aston Villa moved out out the relegation zone with a 1-0 win against Arsenal in the Premier League on Tuesday, July 21.

Mikel Arteta‘s men just couldn’t put a win together despite beating two of the best teams in Europe in Liverpool and Manchester City in their last two fixtures.

Trezeguet nodded in the only goal of the game in the 27th minute.

This was despite Arteta fielding an attacking side that included Eddie Nketiah, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette leading the line.

Lucas Torreira joined Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka in midfield, but the fluidity in play witnessed in recent Arsenal games was missing.

Speaking after the match, Xhaka admitted that the overall performance exhibited by the team simply wasn’t good enough.

Arsenal, however, remain with a FA Cup Final to play against Chelsea that could offer them a route to Europe.

The result saw Villa move out of the relegation zone ahead of Watford who lost to Manchester City. Arsenal will face Watford in their final league fixture.

It also saw Arsenal fans in Kenya face the wrath of ruthless netizens.
