Tanzanian regulatory authorities have hit rapper Rosa Ree with a 6-month ban from all music-related activities over her steamy collaboration Vitamin U with Kenyan Artist Timmy Tdat.

Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa (BASATA) which regulates music and other creative productions, made the decision noting the video's explicit content and Rosa Ree's failure to bring it to the board for review prior to releasing it.

They further accused Rosa Ree of contravening the rules by not having a collaboration contract with Timmy Tdat, an international artist, as is required.

"Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa (BASATA) limemfungia msanii wa Bongo fleva nchini Tanzania Rosa Ree kutojihusisha na muziki kwa miezi sita kutokana na video ya wimbo ya Vitamin U aliyoshirikishwa na msanii Timmy Tdat wa Kenya," Tanzanian daily Mwananchi reported.

An apologetic Rosa Ree appeared before the board and defended herself stating she was not aware she was required to submit the video for review.

She promised to take into consideration all the regulations in future.

Rosa Ree was born in Moshi, Tanzania but spent some time schooling in Kenya.

She is a frequent collaborator with Timmy Tdat but the steamy Vitamin U video sparked eyebrows as it featured them in some intimate scenes, including one where they sat together nude in a bathtub.

Tanzanian authorities are quite stringent on music regulation and even Wasafi Records boss Diamond Platnumz has had his fair share of run-ins with them over various releases.
