The New York-listed Puration Inc. (PURA) has signed an agreement with a Kenyan fair-trade coffee-registered producer to supply ground berries for various marijuana-infused drinks.

The deal will see the company produce Cannabidiol/CBD-infused coffee lattes for the European and American markets.

"Today, PURA is proud to announce entering into an agreement with a Fair Trade producer of coffee in Kenya.

"Farmers who grow Fair Trade coffee receive a fair price and their communities and the environment benefit as well," the company declared in a disclosure to investors earlier this week.

The company noted that they expect farmers to get higher prices for their produce as part of the deal.

PURA, however, failed to name the specific coffee society.

The move was informed by research that shows fast-rising demand in the U.S for various cannabis-infused drinks including tea, coffee, beer, soda and water.

PURA currently produces one of the leading CBD sports drinks in the market known as EverX CBD Sports Water.

It has since introduced Transquili CBD tea and expects to begin testing on CBD infused ground coffee in November.

CBD beverage sales generated over Sh100 million for PURA in the first six months of 2019, representing 100% growth compared to the same period last year.
