Hours after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko spoke at late Kibra MP Ken Okoth's memorial service about his little-known mistress and child, the lady secured a court order halting any plans to inter Okoth's remains.
In court papers, Anne Thumbi noted that she was suing on behalf of Jayden Baraka Okoth whose father is believed to be Ken Okoth.
Earlier reports had indicated that Thumbi had been initially kept out of burial arrangements.
Thumbi sued Ken Okoth's moder Angela Okoth and his European widow Monica.
In his speech, Sonko revealed that Okoth met Thumbi while she was a nurse affiliated with the Sonko Rescue Team.
He further revealed that Okoth asked him to nominate Thumbi to the Nairobi County Assembly, which he did out of respect.
On a post on his Facebook page, Sonko went on to post screenshots of Thumbi's private conversations with Okoth painting the picture of a loving father who took care of his son.
