Becky and Carol of the Band Beca broke out in 2016 with Brathe, the feel-good Afro-pop tune that hyped up girls around Kenya, encouraging them to have a good time with 'no boys allowed'.

The industry took notice of the duo as soon as the song came out, along with its colourful, fun and dance-filled visuals. These were Kenya's next pop stars, every one thought.

Sure enough, they were soon performing on Coke Studio Africa and were signed by popular artist and producer Naiboi under his Naiboi Worldwide stable.

5 years later, Band Beca are still going strong and in February 2021 dropped Beca Fever, their debut album.

Staying true to form, no boys are allowed on this album which exclusively features female artists.

Among artists who appear on the project are Queen of Gengetone Ssaru, songstress Sanaipei and Utawezana hitmaker Femi One as well as Fena Gitu and Mimi Mars.

The 11-track album was released exclusively on BoomPlay, although fans hope to see it made available on different platforms in the coming weeks.

The duo who met at Sauti Academy and did background vocals for leading artists including Wyre and Sauti Sol in the early days of their careers, earlier in 2021 dropped visuals for Watch Your Mouth, a single off the new album.

The album features various themes - from love and dating to empowering messages for girls and women.

All in all, it's an exciting project from one of Kenya's most talented groups.
