Citizen TV news anchor Lilian Muli and radio presenter Patrick Igunzah debuted on Hot 96's popular morning show on Monday after being announced as the new hosts.

The show is usually hosted by Jeff Koinange and comedian Professor Hamo.

The Royal Media Services (RMS)-owned station dramatically announced the changes on social media branding Muli, Igunzah and Hamo as The Hot Threesome.

The move is, however, temporary and sources revealed it was necessitated by Koinange's expected trip to New York where Kenya will be gunning for a Non-Permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) from November 7th.

After trying out various comedians and co-hosts, Hot 96 settled on Professor Hamo to host the show alongside Koinange, giving it some much needed stability that has allowed them to cultivate a dedicated, growing listenership.

Morning radio is a tough nut to crack with shows such as Classic 105's Maina & King'ang'i, Radio Jambo's Gidi na Ghost Asubuhi as well as Milele FM's morning show with Alex Mwakideu and Jalang'o dominating ratings.

Muli is one of the most recognizable news anchors on Kenyan television at the moment.

Igunzah is known for his reggae shows on Hot 96 but is also a great TV reporter .

Hamo is one of the most sought-after comedians in the country, making a name for himself on Churchill Show before finding a place on radio.
